There is no central theme to this book, except that it is mainly about certain events in Southern Africa as they occurred during the previous century. It is not a biography, there is no chronological order; but it is fact or with a measure of distortion over time. It is for the reader to decide which is which. In time, the reader may reach a central conclusion of how small improbable actions can lead to significant and memorable events, but the stories were just loose pieces put together by retrospection and historical perspective. Or maybe they will simply remain veld stories with nothing to be taken from and nothing to be learnt. It's for the reader to decide.. The book consists of a series of short stories - each on its own- but in retrospective they do relate to each other.
