120 years after its very first performance, which took place at Teatro Regio di Torino, La Bohème returns to the tradition-steeped Italian opera house. With director Àlex Ollé from La Fura dels Baus and music director Gianandrea Noseda the Teatro Regio presents a spectacular, up-to-date anniversary production. For Àlex Ollé, directing the opera for the first time, “La Bohème allows the young generation to get rid of everything that prevents them from flying, feeding only on their own vitality; the real hunger of the protagonists is the hunger for life. My production is set in a modern city outskirt. It is there where, in my opinion, the intellectual matrix of the future happens; in ugly, disreputable and poor places which are authentic. In this kind of environment, where life and art - as they did in Romanticism - belong to the survivors.” “A triumphant youthful Bohème”, in which the singers excel due to their naturalness. Giorgio Berrugi sings his Rodolfo “with a luminous timbre, in refined nuances” (La Stampa), perfectly matching “Irina Lungu's full-bodied Mimì” (The London Times). All in all, “this is theatre, this is life, this is passion” (Corriere della sera).

South African soprano Kelebogile Besong makes her presence felt as the singer Musetta vivaciously singing her act two aria Quando men vo 'Musetta's waltz'.

To follow and accompany Anna Netrebko's latest and highly anticipated VERISMO release, DG presents MANON LESCAUT - Live from Salzburg!

This outstanding concert performance of Manon Lescaut with Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov was the absolute highlight of the 2016's Salzburg Festival - a moment of operatic glory, captured live for this unique release.

Anna excelled herself and fascinated the audience with the perfection of her exceptional voice, her unrivaled interpretation and her devotion to this very part - she is the Manon Lescaut of our time. Sonya Yoncheva is one of today's fastest rising young opera stars. The young Bulgarian soprano first gained international prominence when she took first prize in the 2010 edition of Plácido Domingo's prestigious Operalia competition at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. She has collaborated with many artists from the world of opera, and also cross genres: with names from the rock and pop world such as Sting and Elvis Costello, as well as with outstanding classical musicians like Plácido Domingo and Jonas Kaufmann. 'Paris, mon amour' was recorded in one of Europe's most prestigious concert halls - the Palau de la Música in Valencia, under the baton of renowned conductor Frédéric Chaslin. This debut album concentrates on a particularly appealing period, the 'Belle Époque' 1871 to 1914. of cultural life. The 'Belle Époque' eminently suits Sonya, who communicates both elegance and panache onstage, both in her distinctive, multicolored voice and her irresistible personality. Forthcoming residency at the Royal Opera House London in 'Verdi 'La Traviata' - Violetta'. 'OPERA' magazines 'Record Of The Month' for May. The Guardian quotes 'Sonya Yoncheva is surely a star in the making'.

Franco Zeffirelli's magnificent staging of Puccini's final opera — a fairy tale set in a mythical China — is one of the most popular in the Met repertory. In this Live in HD production, Maria Guleghina takes on the title role and Marcello Giordani is Calaf, the unknown prince. Marina Poplavskaya and Samuel Ramey co-star, and Andris Nelsons conducts in his Met debut.
